Senior Accountant (Remote LATAM)

About the role

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in ensuring financial accuracy and strengthening accounting processes across multiple Desai Companies entities. This remote position requires independent work across several LATAM entities, quick identification of prior‑period issues, and accurate recording of transactions moving forward.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and review bank and balance sheet reconciliations across assigned entities.
• Support and complete month‑end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements with focus on balance‑sheet accuracy.
• Identify and correct prior‑period accounting errors and discrepancies.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and code financial transactions accurately.
• Manage accounts payable activities and intercompany accounting, including invoices and transactions.
• Communicate accounting activity across entities and resolve discrepancies independently.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years progressive accounting experience, preferably with multiple entities.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with month‑end close, balance‑sheet reconciliations and general‑ledger accounting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software; QuickBooks preferred.
