Senior Software Engineer, Alerting Platform

About the role

Command|Link is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to own and evolve the core alerting platform that transforms raw security, monitoring and telemetry data into trustworthy alerts. This fully remote position focuses on building high‑fidelity, low‑noise alerts that customers rely on, while tackling the toughest reliability and correlation challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design and own end‑to‑end components of the correlation and alerting engine, including rule evaluation, ML anomaly scoring and delivery pipelines.
• Ensure reliability of the alerting pipeline from OpenSearch evaluation through Kafka delivery, providing idempotency and robust behavior under sustained load.
• Integrate diverse telemetry sources (security tools, syslog, OpenTelemetry, L2‑L4 network protocols) into a normalized data model for downstream analysis.
• Contribute to LLM‑based generation of alert definitions from the normalized model.
• Lead production incident response, conduct post‑mortems and implement long‑term fixes.
• Drive independent greenfield projects that extend correlation and detection capabilities.
• Mentor and teach team members, sharing knowledge to raise overall engineering quality.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and delivering large‑scale, high‑availability backend systems.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with a focus on reliability, performance and scalability.
• Track record of owning production services end‑to‑end, including incident handling and root‑cause analysis.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fully remote environment while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.
• Passion for mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
