Category Manager – Plastics

About the role

Funes-Hartmann is looking for a proactive Category Manager to lead the Plastics category. The role combines commercial insight, analytical skills, and product development to drive growth and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze sales, margins, inventory turnover and stock levels to identify improvement opportunities.
• Support the management and development of the category’s product portfolio.
• Monitor suppliers, quotations, costs and commercial terms.
• Participate in negotiations and the creation of new products together with senior management.
• Propose pricing strategies, promotions and growth initiatives.
• Coordinate with sales, purchasing and logistics teams to ensure product availability.
• Prepare reports, budgets and forecasts for the category.
• Research market trends, competitor activity and new commercial opportunities.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Marketing, Economics or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in purchasing, commercial analysis, product management, trade marketing or similar roles.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and the ability to turn data into commercial decisions.
• Strong negotiation, organization and supplier‑management skills.
• Intermediate English for communication with international suppliers.
• Experience in distribution, fast‑moving consumer goods, home products, plastics or hardware is a plus.
