Senior Full Stack & Backend Node.js Engineer – Remote (Latin America)

About the role

Bluelight is seeking a senior full‑stack and backend engineer to design and deliver high‑performance API services for our clients. The role is fully remote, focused on the Latin America region, and offers the chance to work on complex, multi‑tenant systems in a fast‑moving consultancy environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain low‑latency API services on AWS.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and integrate third‑party SDKs.
• Implement and manage PostgreSQL/AuroraDB schemas, including Row‑Level Security.
• Write raw SQL queries and handle schema migrations using node‑postgres or node‑pg‑migrate.
• Contribute to frontend features with React when needed.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments (AWS Fargate/ECS).
• Develop comprehensive integration and fault‑injection tests.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional backend‑focused software development.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Ability to work overlapping US business hours.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Positive, detail‑oriented mindset.

Required skills

• Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript.
• AWS services (API Gateway, Lambda, Fargate/ECS).
• RESTful API design and SDK integration.
• PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, Row‑Level Security, raw SQL.
• Schema migration tools (node‑postgres, node‑pg‑migrate).
• React.
• Integration testing, fault‑injection testing.
• CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance.
• Experience with Fastify, Zod, Docker containers (preferred).
