Independent Quality Assurance Manager

About the role

Applus+ is seeking a senior Independent Quality Assurance Manager to lead an autonomous audit and quality assurance function for a large‑scale infrastructure project in El Salvador. The role is full‑time and onsite, covering all project phases from engineering and design through procurement, construction, inspection, testing, and hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain an independent QA program aligned with ISO 9001 standards.
• Conduct independent audits and ensure compliance throughout engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
• Provide objective quality assurance reporting without involvement in day‑to‑day construction execution or contractor QC activities.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to verify that all deliverables meet contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Document findings, issue corrective actions, and track their implementation.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (minimum four‑year program).
• At least 15 years of experience managing QA/QC on large civil or industrial projects.
• Current ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification or equivalent international credential.
• Proven track record of performing independent quality assurance audits.
• Fluent in English and willing to reside in El Salvador for the project duration.
