Project Director – Anti‑Trafficking Initiative

About the role

World Vision is seeking a senior Project Director to lead its anti‑trafficking initiative in El Salvador. The role provides strategic, technical, operational, financial and managerial oversight for a complex, donor‑funded project aimed at preventing trafficking, protecting victims and strengthening justice‑sector engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic leadership and technical direction for all project components.
• Serve as the primary liaison with the U.S. Department of State TIP Office, U.S. Embassy, Government of El Salvador, consortium and implementing partners.
• Develop and implement annual work plans, monitoring‑evaluation‑learning (MEL) plans, risk management and adaptive management processes.
• Oversee project budgeting, financial forecasting, compliance and contractual deliverables.
• Ensure high‑quality technical, financial and performance reporting to donors and stakeholders.
• Supervise, mentor and promote collaboration within a multidisciplinary project team.
• Strengthen coordination with government agencies, civil society, communities and other stakeholders involved in anti‑trafficking and child protection.
• Promote learning, knowledge management and dissemination of best practices.

Required profile

• Significant experience (senior‑level) in managing large‑scale anti‑trafficking, child protection or related development projects.
• Proven ability to work with government institutions, justice actors and international donors.
• Strong financial management and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
• Fluency in English; Spanish proficiency preferred.
