Project Director – Anti‑Trafficking Program

About the role
Creative Associates International is seeking a Project Director to lead an anticipated USG‑funded anti‑trafficking program in San Salvador, El Salvador. The role provides overall technical, managerial and administrative oversight, acting as the primary liaison with the United States Government, the Salvadoran government and justice‑sector partners.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the anti‑trafficking program.
- Lead implementation, ensuring achievement of objectives, targets and deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with USG regulations, financial controls and reporting requirements.
- Serve as the main point of contact with DOS, government counterparts, private‑sector partners and civil‑society stakeholders.
- Oversee monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning systems and promote data‑driven decisions.
- Recruit, supervise, mentor and support a multidisciplinary project team.
- Monitor operational and security risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Develop annual work plans, implementation plans and budgets; submit high‑quality technical and financial reports.
- Manage sub‑awards to local implementing partners.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in International Development, Human Rights or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience managing large donor‑funded international development programs.
- At least 5 years in senior leadership roles such as Chief of Party, Deputy Chief of Party or Program Director.
- Demonstrated experience managing USG‑funded anti‑trafficking programs.
- Proven ability to work with government counterparts, donors, local organisations and consortium partners.
- Professional fluency in Spanish and English.
- Experience working in El Salvador or elsewhere in Central America is preferred.
