HR Generalist

About the role

The HR Generalist will provide comprehensive human resources and personnel administration support for Carenet Health’s operations in El Salvador. This role ensures accurate employee records, smooth onboarding, payroll processing, attendance management, and employee relations while complying with local statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, update, scan and digitize employment contracts; manage new‑hire onboarding activities and maintain confidential personnel files.
• Administer payroll inputs, including medical leave, vacation, deductions, and garnishment orders; review and correct payroll data before processing.
• Register and monitor employee medical leave, vacation balances, and attendance; coordinate with supervisors on performance and behavioral concerns.
• Respond to employee inquiries, conduct one‑on‑one meetings, manage disciplinary actions and escalations, and coordinate case‑by‑case action plans.
• Ensure compliance with government and statutory requirements, occupational health and safety regulations, and support facilities‑related needs and employee well‑being initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR administration, including employee records management, onboarding, payroll, and attendance tracking.
• Strong knowledge of local labor laws and statutory compliance in El Salvador.
• Excellent organizational skills with a focus on confidentiality and accuracy.
• Ability to handle employee relations issues, disciplinary actions, and case management effectively.
