Medical Virtual Assistant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Medical Doctor to join our telehealth team as a Medical Virtual Assistant. The role involves conducting comprehensive virtual patient evaluations, reviewing medical histories, and providing clinical recommendations, including prescribing when authorized.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for patients during telehealth consultations, performing detailed medical assessments.
• Document patient demographics, medical history, medications, allergies, and current diagnoses accurately.
• Evaluate symptoms, identify potential diagnoses, and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and determine dosages within legal licensing requirements.
• Review laboratory results and diagnostic reports to support clinical decisions.
• Enter all clinical information into the EHR system with high accuracy and maintain HIPAA‑compliant records.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD, MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Proven clinical experience as a physician, preferably in primary care or telehealth.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. medical terminology, pharmacology, and common diseases.
• Ability to recognize urgent conditions and act appropriately.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record systems (EHR/EMR).
• Experience using eClinicalWorks (ECW).
• Familiarity with Athenahealth, Kareo, Epic, NextGen, or AdvancedMD platforms.
